Personal Folder Outlook Recovery Without the Fuss
One of the most dreaded inconveniences that we can ever experience when it comes to our personal folder Outlook files is when we no longer can access them. As we know, Outlook saves its files as a .pst file on the computer. We are blocked access whenever a PST file gets corrupted or when the size of the file goes over 2 gigabytes. When this happens, then all data is lost including those that are very important to us. When this happens, we feel at a loss especially if we use our emails and email files often.
With the use of personal folder Outlook recovery software, we no longer have to dread having inaccessible or even corrupted files. We can now easily recover these files without the fuss with the help of such programs. The best thing about this software is is the fact that they are very user-friendly. In most cases, you just have to click a few buttons and you are on the way to total file recovery.

Laptop Data Recovery Has Eased the Data Loss Hassles
Thus, laptop data recovery is the most feasible solution. The laptops are highly fragile which makes them susceptible to damages. Moreover, one carries them wherever he/she goes. This increases the probability of hard drive damages. Although, the companies provide hardware support to the employees but the process takes few days.
However, in some cases you'll need the support of laptop data recovery experts. You should reach the expert whenever your laptop falls accidentally and refuses to turn ON. It can be damaging for the hard drive. Hard drive crash also occurs when an unknown Trojan or virus is downloaded on the laptop. It corrupts the system leading to non-physical damage to the system software.
You can also take the laptop to a laptop data recovery expert, if you delete an important file by mistake. This lets you reproduce the file and provide access to the data or image. You can carry your everyday tasks while the hard drive is replaced with a new one. Thus, it saves a considerable amount of money and time that would have lost due to hard drive failure.
These days, you can find multiple laptop data recovery companies. You can also buy data recovery software from an online portal. These software tackle the process in an efficient manner. You can follow the instructions and use the software via online articles. A simple technique and dedicated effort can give you the required user data.

Why Online Backup Helps Businesses Everywhere
Paying for insurance is often considered an expensive thing to do and most business owners will not admit to disliking it. However, when they do pay for insurance and when they are in need of it they are thankful. Online backup is seen in the same way and can be misconstrued as something not so important to smaller businesses. The truth is when backing things up on the computer it is vital that you keep monitoring the information and make sure that in the event that something does happen which is beyond your control you are prepared.
The majority of problems occurring with computer files storage are the computer crashing, a fire occurring, theft, electrical disaster, hardware failure, human error, software corruption, virus, natural disasters and floods. These can all affect the files you have stored and if these are not backed up appropriately any important files and personal client information could be lost forever. These are then irretrievable and you will have to face the clients.
Simply copying and transferring files onto CD's or DVD's is not enough and simply relying on the IT department is not demonstrating a sense of control over ones work. It takes some serious and skillful knowledge in knowing how to backup and configure programs to store your files and making sure that everything is protected. When disaster strikes then you are safe in the knowledge the data is safe. Online backup servers tend to provide the best security options and can help businesses from going through the tedious business of spending time to transfer information onto a number of CD's and DVD's.
Once the files have been transferred onto disc, where then would be the best place to store them? What happens when they become damaged and how can you make sure that they will not become damaged? These are things that all businesses will need to consider, however as online backup systems have become more popular these small issues tend not to be of an issue. The best way to find a good backup provider is to do a bit of research on how they work.
Do they provide a free trial? Where are their servers located? How secure are their storage facilities and their service? Do they have a security plan for people entering into their data centres? How do they charge and how much do they charge? What other services do you get from the service? Can they provide past customer testimonials and what backup plan do they have if they go out of business? These are just small things that would need to be considered before approaching any online backup organisation.

Data Recovery For NAND and NOR Flash Memory
Although NAND and NOR memory chips function differently they are still widely being used in various electronic devices where data storing, erasing and reprogramming are essential. Both invented by DR. Fujio Masuoka in his work place Toshiba, the main goal was set to outdate the old storage devices that functions under magnetic energy like: hard disks and cassette tapes by reducing the cost per bit and increasing maximum chip capacity.
Hence, NAND flash is widely used in MP3 players, USB drives and digital cameras where higher storage capacity is crucial. But, some devices like pocket PC's can be found using both types of flash memory at the same time. These PC's typically use NAND for memory storage and NOR to boot the operating system.
Flawed Memory Drives and Data Recovery:
Data recovery is a highly specialized science which is equally valid for rescuing data from both NAND and NOR flash. Although, NOR is rarely used and is quite expensive, NAND is preferred extensively for mass storage and a huge godsend for thin and smaller devices.
The probability of data loss is elevated when bad memory storage is used: unbranded USB drives, unbranded NAND wafer devices, etc. These unbranded memory devices & chips are often noticed in spontaneous reboots leading to program failure. A malfunctioning RAM is often noticed to write correct data in an incorrect location of the drive which eventually creates a data malfunction and data loss. Furthermore, using flawed memory can also cause degradation of your hard drives logical capability and can finally destroy your device, the most extreme: an unbootable system or device.
Data recovery or NAND data recovery can minimize your loss and protect your machine from any incurable situation; we highly suggest avoiding the purchase of unbranded USB drives, SD cards, USB sticks, CompactFlash cards, and any other no-name devices for storing your crucial data. NAND recovery is possible but very complicated.
First Aid Before Data Recovery:
Data loss is a common problem that we often face due to virus attacks in our USB drives or when our computers get physically or logically over used. To fix these data degradation problems data recovery is only one solution that can rescue you and your data from the nightmare of any permanent loss. But, experts believe that data loss often becomes a complicated task when a user ignores the safety measures that help to avoid further data losses. Thus, in case of data loss some safety measures should be applied.
When data loss is acknowledged, further procedures to retain the data should not be made. This may lead to much more serious data loss.
It's better to contact experts for help and other remedy measures.
Using software like: scandisk should be completely avoided.
Avoid no-name or unbranded devices.
eBay sellers are not always honest eProvided ™ has learned many times where customers data is stored on fake NAND wafers, your purchase of a 16GB SD card may yield a soon to be damaged 1GB NAND wafer inside.
Data Recovery for Hard Drives & NAND Storage:
Data recovery processes embrace various techniques with latest technologies. At first, experts determine the fault on the device and classify them into Tier 1 and Tier 2. If your device falls into Tier 1 this means your device is suffering from a logically damaged component and data recovery costs are normally cheaper as compared to Tier 2. But, if your device has Tier 2 fault than your device is physically injured and may have many internal damaged circuits which need circuit and recovery experts; the process will normally be more costly.
After determining tier 1 or tier 2 an image of device is saved and these images are relocated to a separate server to avoid any accidental loss. Then the original copy of the image is transported to a lab where first degree data recovery is performed using various utilities which may include repairing faults in the device, dumping directly from NAND wafers, repairing circuits, crystals etc. Other various attempts are also made which includes testing and recovering from the logical damage on the device.
If the first degree recovery fails then the task is considered to be severe and second degree recovery is practiced which includes high level techniques and experts with professional knowledge over critical uses of software and hexadecimal formulas. These software utilities are used to re-build the drive and manipulate other drive errors.
In case of physical faults like: motor replacements, repairing heads or cleaning scratches different cleaning liquids and other spare parts are available according to the size and code. After every physical and logical recovery attempt the rescued data is copied to an additional storage device like: CD/DVD's, flash drives, and hard drives.

Effective Steps For Data Recovery
Always Backup Your Important Files
The most effective way to deal with data recovery is to undergo certain procedures to make sure it does not happen. The best way to make sure that your important data is never lost is to back up your important files every time you prepare to shut off your computer. The more diligent you are about backing up your data, the less likely you will be to suffer a panic attack when your hard disk fails. Having all of your data filed properly backed up will make it easier to hear that your hard disk can not be repaired.
If you use CD's or DVD's to backup your data files, you should make sure that they are properly stored somewhere that they can not be damaged. Many experts recommend that you store your backup data files in a safe that is both fire and flood proof.
If you don't like the idea of having a safe that is full of data files, you might want to consider an offsite or online method for data storage.
Shut Off Your Computer
Computer manufactures try to design their hard drives to last for several years before you experience any problems. The longer your computer is turned on, the more you shorten the life of your hard disk drive. Turning off your computer when you aren't using it is one of the best things you can do to lengthen the life of your computer's hard drive.
Data Recovery Software
It might be tempting to use one of the software recovery programs that are currently available on the market. Most of them are cheaper than hiring the services of a computer technician and the description on the box makes them sound easy to use. Even though many of these programs are very useful when it comes to recovering your loss data they can also wipe your hard drive clean and make it impossible to ever get your data back. Even though the initial cost of the getting your hard drive repaired and restored is often high, in the long run it is usually your best bet. Before the computer technician starts to repair your hard drive you should ask if repairing your hard drive is worthwhile of if it would be cheaper to just purchase a new hard drive for your computer.

How the Prevention of RAID Failure Might Be Your Saving Grace
There are reasons as to why so many businesses use RAID. RAID drives have the ability to combine several physical disks into a larger device and boast redundancy and performance improvements. The most common area where we find RAID failure is in the storage subsystem. The most obvious way to prevent the loss of data is to constantly backup your data, not matter how advanced your system. The sooner you realise that data loss can happen to anyone, the sooner you will be able to protect your data from RAID failure.
Advanced storage devices are designed to anticipate the possibility of data disasters, but even advanced RAID arrays can face failure. The way in which a RAID drive is supposed to prevent failure is by supplying a level of fault tolerance that will keep your storage subsystem out of danger.
There will be times when one of your drives will fail whilst the others in the array are still in perfect working order. It is suggested that you label each drive and cable to make sure that you do not remove a working RAID drive instead of the RAID drive that has experienced the failure. Labelling them will make it easier for you to match them to the port on the controller card as well as to the drive numbers. This may seem unnecessary, but it could be your saving grace in a replacement situation.
Another common problem that arises with RAID arrays is that many decide to purchase drives without knowing the manufacturing details. There is the possibility that the drives might all come from the same manufacturing lot if they were all bought together. Using drives from the same manufacturing lot can result in RAID access failure. It is suggested that you implement RAID 6 if you have not done so, which will help you recover from two separate failed drives.
In some instances, your RAID drive might be damaged and there is nothing left to do to prevent RAID failure, in which case your only option is to let the professionals take over and recover data lost

Recovering Deleted Text Messages - Is it Possible to Get Your Lost Text Messages Back?
The easiest, cheapest and most effective way to recover your deleted text messages is through SIM card data recovery. Your SIM card is home to basically all the data on your cell phone, including SMS, pictures, phone calls and other data you probably don't care about at this point. As long as your card isn't physically damaged - like burned, dropped in water or smashed to bits - you're in pretty good shape.
When you delete a text message or SMS from your cell phone, it isn't immediately erased from your SIM card. Instead, your SIM pushes it to the side to free up some memory for future data. As long as your text messages haven't been overwritten by other data, there is almost a 100% chance that you can get them back
SIM card data recovery is done simply through software and a SIM card reader. Combined, these two can effectively retrieve your lost text messages, as well as any other data that may have slipped through the cracks Many of these software programs can be download for free through a free trial, but some can cost upward of $50, which still seems like a drop in the bucket when trying to get your precious texts back. The software and the SIM card reader will read your card and determine whether or not the lost data is still there; if it is, the software will recover the data and present it back to you - plain and simple.
Oops! Did you accidentally erase an important text message? If so, you're still in good shape and I can just about guarantee you can get it back. Read on about SIM Card Data Recovery and how you get back your deleted text messages today!

Dealing With Data Recovery
The one thing that you should have learned from watching any of the procedural television shows is that there is always a way to recover your data from your computer's hard disk drive. The trick is knowing how to get to the missing data.
Hire a Professional
The first thing you should accept is that even if you are usually able to repair most of your computer's problems, you probably won't be able to recover your lost data files by yourself when your hard disk crashes. In this situation your best bet is to seek the assistance of a certified professional. Not only will the computer technician be able to recover your missing data, they will also be able to make any repairs that your drive requires. Double check that the professional has experience repairing your brand of hard drive and your computer's operating system.
A RAID Configuration
If your computer uses several different disk drives, then your life will be considerably easier. All you have to do is remove the damaged hard drive. Once you have done this, you can either replace the disk with a new one, or you can have the damaged hard disk drive rebuilt. When you remove the damaged drive, the remaining hard drives should regenerate your missing data. The problem with having multiple hard drives (this system is called a RAID configuration) is that if several of the hard disk drives crash, then you will have to bring all of your disk drives to a computer technician to have them repaired. Make sure that the computer technician knows that your hard drives are a RAID configuration.
When All Hope is Gone
Occasionally, you will hear that your computer's hard drive is beyond repair. If this is the case, the professional that you have hired will tell you as soon as they have diagnosed the problem. When this happens, you should plan on cutting your losses and just go ahead with purchasing a brand new hard drive. Before the computer technician starts to work on your hard drive, you should find out if the cost of the repair is going to cost more than it would to simply purchase a brand new hard drive.

Why is Remote Backup Software Important?
Since people are now opting for mobility as a feature in their computers for convenience, laptops are now replacing most PCs. Security issues have become commonplace because of this. When it comes to considering remote backup software, some of these concerns are bandwidth and storage requirements, network access to a backup server and data security. Laptop backup proves to be a challenge on this and other fronts.
We have to keep in mind that remote backup software pertains to bandwidth and storage needs which is why it is also taken into consideration. A regular PC used for business has approximately 10GB of extremely important data, a major increase from 500MB in 2000. Most of this data is archived e-mails, the type that are kept in case users need to refer to them at a later date. However, much of this data is created by e-mail clients, such as Outlook, because of the indexing and other changes that are made on archived data. In contrast to this data increase, the bandwidth available to a remote user who is traveling outside the office has not, or if it has, very little. Important data needed for any business may be delayed with this reason.
Aside from that, users will not be able to connect to their company's LAN (local area connection), especially if the company only operates in a legacy environment. This means that the traveling employee or one working from a remote site as, for example, a telecommuter, cannot access the secure resources of the company. An IP address of a computer which is not publicly visible may not be recognized by the company server. This is a one reason why a backup of data is unattainable. Remote backup software is crucial to this reason, with emphasis on laptop backup challenges. Security also becomes a major issue when working on the WAN (wide area network). Irregular flow of data happens when a backup/restore data becomes un-encrypted, which in turn, poses a great risk for company data to be jeopardized.
There are solutions available to address all concerns that have been mentioned. Companies will be able to assist any needed inquiry as well as regulate the users, with this kind of solution, thus enabling remote users to backup data without the server dependence to get the data across to the PC. There are also certain solutions which can help decrease the required data storage space.

Undelete Files on a Mac - Ask the Computer Expert
I accidentally threw some files in the waste basket on my Mac, and believe it or not but I managed to empty it as well. Does someone have experience in this area when it comes to music? Is it possible to get the complete files back and not just fragments? Is there a program that is better than any other? I'm in the information gathering phase right now and don't want to make another foolish mistake by starting prematurely.
Answer:
When you have made a mistake like this, as a rule you should finish what you are doing and turn your computer off right away. As soon as the computer writes information to the hard drive (which it will do if you are visiting web sites as the pages are stored in the web browser's cache memory) old data runs the risk of being overwritten.
What you should do next is try to find a piece of software that undeletes or restores deleted files and that is designed for the file system you are using - for example ntfs or FAT if you are using Windows XP/Vista, or HFS Plus if you are using Mac OS X. The software should be on a bootable disk, meaning that you boot from the disk and not the hard drive - otherwise your data is at risk again!
Given that all these criteria are fulfilled your chances of restoring all your files are good to excellent.
If you don't have a recovery program on CD readily available (and really, who does?) your best bet is to install a recovery program purchased online. There are many different programs available, but you need to make sure that the program handles your exact computer setup oncluding filesystem and operative system. Just be careful so you don't overwrite the data you're trying to recover, and good luck!

Tips to Prevent Data Loss
Backup your work
Backing up your work is simple thing to do: you can use USB's, CD's, or external drive, among others, to have a duplicate or backup of your work. Just in case your file was corrupted by whatever reason, you're sure that you have a secured file stored. You can also try partitioning your hard drive into two: one for the operating system and some programs, while the second partition would be for backup. This way you won't need to have a separate storage device while preventing data loss.
Use Antivirus and Antispyware Programs
Viruses, worms and spywares can delete, modify and corrupt your files. Right after installing programs on your computer, it is a must to install an antivirus and antispyware. Keep your antivirus updated so that it could be effective in preventing viruses. Always scan your computer using antispyware program because spywares could attack your files and give attackers access to it.
Use UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supply)
Brownouts are unavoidable, so it is advantageous to use UPS. A sudden surge in current could corrupt your files as well as some programs on your computer. While in a middle of encoding your project, you could prevent data loss by using UPS. UPS, could allow you to properly save your work and shutdown your computer, which otherwise would cause files and programs to malfunction.
Don't try to repair your computer if you're not qualified to do it
If you think that you need to open up your computer because it needs repair, don't attempt to do it unless you really know what you're doing. Trying to solve the problem without assistance from a qualified professional could do more damage than good. You could lose not just data, but you could rupture the hardware inside. Or you could harm yourself from electric shock.
Don't share your file with strangers
To protect yourself from data loss, never allow anybody you don't know to access your important file. You're never sure what they could do to it. They could steal your work, modify or delete it.
Don't modify the registry of your Operating System
Unless you're sure what you're doing, never do changes to the registry. It could harm your operating system that could result in malfunction and loss of some important files.

Lost a JPG File?
What can cause JPG file to become corrupted?
In case you insert your memory card into an incorrect digital camera device and when you try to download the pictures, the message shows that the memory card is not valid.
In case you stopped the copying process in the middle
Or when you pulled out your memory card while your dugutal camera was still on.
You don't have to be agonized. There are a number of software available in the internet which claims to retrieve the lost pictures from your photo card.
But users have faced a lot of problems doing this. Sometimes the users face the message saying that the memory card used is not formatted and it prompts the user to format the media. Some users do this mistake and format the media.
Hence, not all software works in this situation. Only some decent softwares are there which are available in the Internet that really can help the users. Once the user downloads decent software, and runs it on all the lost and inaccessible pictures, this software do the trick and the users are able to download all their lost pictures.
The user should keep the following points in mind while dealing with digital cameras. Firstly, you should not try to mess up with the pictures. This applies to all pictures, whether on the hard disk drive or on the memory card. In case you try to copy the pictures from one device to another many times, the chances for the pictures getting lost increases. You will not be be able to retrieve back the pictures in such scenarios and hence you should refrain from copying and writing their pictures from one device to another and so on.
Second, you should find a good repair JPG program in order to restore your lost pictures. You should remember that not all the software available on the Internet could handle this. Only few good types of software exist in the market that really help you in this tight situation. In fact there are some softwares available that do more harm than good to your corrupt JPG files and even lead the memory card unusable for future purpose.
Hence, it is recommended to take good care of your photo card. Take periodic cleaning of your card and also keep good software in order to combat such tight situations when your favorite pictures are lost.

Data Loss After Installing Solaris 10 Kernel Patches
Consider a practical instance, where you install Solaris 10 with patch 118822-29 or later and without patch 118833-11. Once your patch gets installed and you restart your system, it does not boot.
Cause:
The root cause for unbootable behavior of your system is Kernel data structure corruption, which further results in Kernel damage and various other panics. The behavior can occur due to very minor changes in environment.
Resolution:
To make your system bootable and access the data saved in your hard drive, you will need to install Solaris 10 with patch 118833-11 or later on your system.
Note: Removing the already installed patches is a difficult task and removes some good updates from your system. So, you should not remove the patches you have already installed, instead locate and install the latest patch available.
In most cases, installing the above patch resolves your issue and your hard drive becomes inaccessible. However, if the above resolution fails to resolve your problem and your system remains unbootable, then you need to opt for advanced Sun Solaris Data Recovery Software to recover your data. These applications are built with highly graphical user-interface that makes them self-explanatory without any prior technical knowledge. Such Sun Solaris Sparc Recovery applications employ advanced scanning mechanisms to recover your hard drive data. These recovery tools also perform recovery after fsck command fails to repair the system data structures.
Stellar Phoenix (Solaris - Sparc) software is a power-packed Sun Solaris Data Recovery utility that recovers all lost and missing files and folders from Solaris operating system on Sparc platform. This read only recovery software supports UFS file systems. It gets installed on Windows (XP, 2003, 2000, NT, ME, 98 and 95) and the affected UNIX hard drive should be connected as slave.

The Importance of Data Backup
The issue of data loss has been catapulted into the public conscious on numerous worrying occasions in the past couple of years. In 2008, a civil servant accidentally lost documents that were top-secret and which contained the very latest UK Government intelligence on al-Qaeda by leaving them on a train. Cue public panic.
Then the NHS also lost several millions of patient records in the same year with confidential patient information.
Added to that were the various Government bodies which managed to lose laptops containing data that wasn't encrypted.
But none of this necessarily means that the data wasn't backed up. It merely points to the limitations of the hard-copy backing up of data, and the possibility of human error.
Loss of data to a business can be like loss of its lifeblood. It's estimated that businesses who suffer massive data loss from their computer systems, and by that we're talking the loss of databases, invoices, emails, customer details, contracts and research, will struggle hard to survive for a further 12 months.
Data backup has long been good business practice, but it was common for backups to be kept on something like a tape, which many businesses often stored in the same place as the actual data itself. Of course, anything that caused the loss of the original data, whether it was fire, flood or even burglary, would often amount to loss of data backup too. Tapes can also be easily lost or damaged.
Online data backup is the best practice for business today. This is usually provided by a specialist company which builds a bespoke client software programme that will typically once a day transfer precious data to its own service provider by collecting, compressing and encrypting it first.
Some companies can offer a service that backs up as it goes, detecting each change and saving it as it happens, rather than just once a day, and most online backup services maintain a list of all of the previous versions of files. Many companies that offer this service also offer a free trial period.
There can be disadvantages to online data backup, depending on requirements and circumstance. Sometimes data restoration can be slow; this is dependent on network bandwidth.
Accessibility of data can also be affected if a backup provider fails to weather the economic storm and goes out of business.
But generally speaking, online data backup has many advantages when compared to conventional backup on a tape, for example.

A Guide to Data Loss and How to Protect Your Business
Once you're aware of the risks data loss can cause, you need to look at where your existing data is stored. If your data is located outside the data centre and is remote from the main backup infrastructure, then it's distributed data. If your data is distributed then chances are your servers are in a 'lights out' environment, the risk this can bring is the lack of skilled IT people which may man this environment, assuming it is manned at all. Looking at examples of data loss which have in the media recently, you also have to consider data you may have on external portable devices like lap tops, disks or USB sticks. If you have staff that work from home, or staff who attend meetings you need to ensure any data that is being carried around is safe and secure.
Even if your staff follow every protocol your data may still be at risk, if it's located in a data centre, the data centre itself may also be susceptible to data loss. The physical machine may experience damage or disk failure or they may also be venerable to hacking or viruses. If you have back level software on your operating system it might make the systems more venerable to attack and that's something businesses do need to bear in mind, if you've got a back up infrastructure which is backing up to tape and you're taking those tapes off site, obviously as soon as those tapes leave the secure datacenter environment they are at risk from loss as well.
This may seem a little daunting, but there are lots of choices and flexibility for medium sized businesses with regards to backing up data. Not only can you choose from a tape based infrastructure or a disk based infrastructure, or even a hybrid of the two, but you can also choose between having online or offline backup. For longer term retention requirements, it's often preferable to have off line back up which will be taken off site and brought to the site or to the necessary place, in event of recovery. There's also a lot of differing technology out there, you're able to find duplication technology which allows you to reduce the amount of data you're sending over the network and storing in the back end and there's also increasingly sophisticated encryption technology to ensure you're protecting your data in the most effective way possible. You can choose between scheduled back up (back up to happen once a day or more frequently) or you can choose a continued data protection solution which means that all changes are always being captured throughout the working day. Finally you can choose between having a managed service (choosing a service provider to back up your data for you) or you might just choose to run the service in house like a do it yourself solution, using your own resources and your own IT staff.

RAID 30 Failure and Recovery
Chances of failure
It can tolerate failure of up to 4 drives provided each of the failed disk is of different array. It implies if one drive from each of the set fails, no data will be lost. Until you replace the failed drive , the remaining drives in the that set serve as single point of failure for the complete array. Thus, if any of these drives fail at any moment, the entire array will get lost and there will be no access to stored data. In conclusion, RAID 30 fails if two or more hard drives fail in same RAID 3 set.
Recovery
These hard drives fail because of common reasons such as read/write head failure, motor crash, wear and tear and so forth, but with a major difference that they are arranged in a standard fashion. So, recovering from such array requires expertise and use of advanced recovery tools and procedures.
RAID Data Recovery service is aimed at recovering lost data from all types of RAID levels and in all types of crashes. Technicians providing RAID Recovery Service employ high end methods to safely extract all the data from RAID arrays by opening and examining the failed hard drives in Clean Room surroundings.

I Need to Know How to Prevent Computer Crashes!
The first step in computer crash prevention is proper maintenance. A well-maintained car won't break down on you. Just the same, a well-maintained computer will be more reliable. And when there is a problem, you will be more likely to spot it early. Proper computer maintenance doesn't just mean cleaning the dust out of the case every month. You also need to run scan disk and defrag programs about every month. You should run a registry cleaner just as often, if not more often. These programs are simple to use and will keep your computer running as smoothly as it can.
The next step is to keep your eyes and ears open. You computer can run diagnostics on itself and it is important that you pay attention to these when the computer starts up. Be aware of the signs of bad RAM or a hard drive going bad. If your computer is short on memory, a RAM stick may be going bad. If your hard drive is buzzing or clicking, you may want to consider backing up your data immediately. By learning to recognize the visual and auditory cues of hardware failing, you will not be taken off guard when something does go bad.
One of the biggest aspects of learning how to prevent computer crashes is knowing how to protect your computer. There are numerous steps you can take here. First, keep your computer well-ventilated as overheating can damage it. Keep your computer where it won't be bumped or kicked since even small movements can damage a hard drive. Always use a surge protector for your computer because even a small power surge can fry a motherboard. While it may seem like common sense, be sure to have adequate anti-virus protection. That means using a program that suits your needs. If you browse the web a lot, you want the best security. And always make sure your anti-virus software is up to date.
By learning to recognize the signs of a possible failure, you can potentially prevent one from occurring. But even if you cannot prevent it, you will at least be able to back up your data so that an inevitable crash does not cause you undue frustration. Obviously, the biggest step is prevention. Proper maintenance and protection for your computer are essential to maintaining a long and healthy life. When looking for how to prevent computer crashes, always keep these simple, yet effective, steps in mind.
Even if you know how to prevent computer crashes, you cannot prevent them all! Protect your important data and files with an online backup service! Visit us to learn about the best online backup solutions today.

Data Recovery From Hard Drive Units That Have Crashed
The first thing to avoid is attempting to repair a drive yourself. Never open the sealed casing of the hard drive. Exposure to any particulates will only make the drive even worse. And even if you do manage to repair the damaged piece, the drive will crash immediately due to the particulates in the air it was exposed to. Don't try any home remedies either. Tricks such as freezing your hard drive will not fix your problem and will likely only make things worse. Keep a level head, don't get angry and take the proper steps.
The first thing you should do is check to see if the hard disk is still recognized by the computer. If it is working physically, the crash may have been caused by a program or software. A virus could also be the culprit. If you can run virus scans on the drive, you may find that your files are simply corrupted and the drive is functioning fine. In addition, many of these become unreadable or crash due to file fragmentation. Running scan disk or file defragmentation programs can alleviate problems.
However, if the hard drive is making strange sounds or no longer operates at all, you may have experienced a mechanical failure. The hard disk is a very delicate piece of equipment and even the smallest things can cause damage. Data recovery from these units that have had a mechanical failure should always be left to the professionals. Only those with a clean room and the right tools and knowledge can repair a disk device which has been physically damaged. Although this can be expensive, many people do not put a price tag on the things they have stored on computers.
You will probably have to experience the woes of a hard drive crash before you decide to start backing up data. But it is worth the relatively small amount of money you will spend to keep your data safe. If you choose to backup your data now, before you ever have to deal with a hard drive crash, you won't have to spend time, effort and potentially thousands of dollars to recover your important data later on.
While data recovery from hard drive units which have crashed is not impossible, it is a far better idea to invest in a backup for all of your important data so you do not have to go through the stress and expense of data recovery. Visit us to find out what are the best online backup services available today.

How to Use the Top Spyware Removal Programs - What the Computer Techs Won't Tell You!
So, how do you get rid of spyware? And how do you keep your computer safe in the future?
You can try one of the many web-based spyware cleaner software tools available. These software cleaners go through your system and compare all of your data files to their huge list of all known spyware applications. Once the spyware file has been discovered, you can delete it from your system. The most normal selection is to remove the offensive spyware app, except in the rare cases where it may cause you to lose some other precious information.
If you get spyware in your system you can be sure that it will manifest itself at the most inconvenient point possible. By using spyware sensing apps, you will stay steps ahead of the malevolent software and the damage it wants to do to your system.
As a PC repair guy I want you to understand that it is a lot less expensive to use your own spyware detecting application than to have a tech come and fix the problem.
The best software I have found for removing spyware is: NoAdWare!

Retrieving Hard Drive Data
So you went and thought it would be a good idea to open the control panel and start messing around with stuff, did you? Didn't feel like waiting to shut down your computer the RIGHT way, did you? You just pulled the plug. Or pressed the button. Silly rabbit...
You didn't pay any attention to the fact that you might lose some of all your precious computer information. No! Who cares about that, right? That's what we have nerds for!
But now you're sad because your super awesome new laptop computer has been reduced to a big ugly paperweight. Oh, if only there was some way to retreive your hard drive data! I'll tell you how, don't worry.
Problems like this are usually caused by the power going out. It goes out and your stupid file system didn't get stored like it needed to. Or maybe you have a problem with your hardware or drivers. Or maybe your stupid computer just crashed and you don't know why. They all have the same result: the file system didn't cross the T's and dot the I's. Imagine an olympic gymnast freezing in mid-air and instead of landing gracefully, falls on his head. SPLAT.
And like the gymnast, when your computer falls on its head, its going to get all messed up. It might start acting strangely, such as powering up and shutting down. It may forget things that it once knew, like how to feed itself and tie its shoes. Like a human deprived of oxygen for too long, your computer could have brain damage, making it difficult for it to communicate with the hard disk and retrieve the data necessary to operate properly.
There's some neat programs out there to fix these problems and your computer probably comes with at least one. I've listed them below because I'm cool like that.
Run these programs to see if you have logical damage to your computer. If you're not getting anything, chances are you have some physical damage that's masquerading as logical damage.
Western Digital Hard Disk Failure and Recovery
Western Digital Hard Disks are available for different desktops and portable devices. These disks come shipped with SATA, SCSI and IDE interfaces. Different hard drive families are MOMMOTH, SABRE, HAWK, SCORPIO and BUCCANEER. At times, you observe that the system that is installed with a Western Digital disk fails to detect it.
BIOS no longer recognizes it, you come across failure error messages, you observe typical scratching and grinding noises from disk or the drive appears to be completely dead. In such situations, it is required that you immediately replace the disk as it might be physically damaged and consult Hard Disk Recovery technicians to extract lost data manually.
For example, when you try to start the computer installed with a Western Digital disk, you might fail to do so with the following error:
"WDC ROM MODEL--<>"
Here, ' disk family name' denotes the name of Western Digital hard drive family.
Cause
Such errors are the general indicative of physical disk failure. You receive this error in BIOS screen that is generated by PCB controller board when it cannot detect the it healthy. Few possible causes for such behavior are:
Solution
You need to follow these steps in order to recover from the failure:
A Hard Disk Recovery company aim at repairing and recovering all possible data from a physically crashed drive. Using proprietary tools and advanced recovery techniques, these companies are competent to recover from hard drive failure in all cases. The general methods used are examining the failed drive in Clean Rooms, determining the odds of recovery and nature of problem, repairing or replacing damaged internals and so forth.

The Best Data Recovery Company For Your Needs
Data recovery companies offer a variety of products and services, but they are not equally good for your needs. Do not just accept what a company says about its success rate on data recovery. If the company says they have a 100% success rate, that in itself is cause for concern about them. In the best of circumstances, about 60 to 75% of all hard drive data can be recovered. You need to find out how the company deals with that fact and can provide you all of the backup and security you need.
One critical factor that will assist you in making your decision is whether or not a data recovery company has a clean room that is certified with a Class 100 ranking. Any ranking lower than that means that you are taking a risk with your data in the recovery process. A particle of dust can destroy data, so a company without a certified Class 100 clean room is a false economy that could end up being a very costly mistake.
The data recovery company that you select should have a certified clean room. The tiniest dust particle or fingerprint is a threat to your data. If data recovery is done in a room that is not properly certified, your data may be destroyed. The Class 100 clean room is the best ranking. If you choose a company with a lower ranking, you are taking unnecessary risks with your data.
You will need to investigate the mechanical repair capabilities of the companies that you consider. If you still have a hard drive warranty in place, the company you select should be authorized to work under that warranty. The last thing you want is to lose your warranty because a data recovery company is not authorized to open the hard drive, so be sure to get verification in writing.
You also need to be aware of all costs. What will the price be for each type of service or replacement parts? Most data recovery companies will provide you with an initial assessment that should detail what the problem is and how much it is to fix. You should also get prices for additional services if needed and make sure that they get your approval before fixing any problems that were not quoted on the initial assessment.
This kind of cost breakout will be important to get for all products and services that you may need for data recovery in your system. If you see that a service in one company's breakout is not listed by another company, ask that company for more specifics. You need to be on the lookout for possible hidden costs. Also, be careful about any company that tells you that a particular service is free. How many things in life are really free?
If you are sure to ask for specifics from each company before signing a contract, you are less likely to face problems in the middle of a data problem. You don't want your data recovery company giving you a bill for costs that were hidden previously. It should be clear in the contract that the company must seek approval for any services or products beyond the original scope of work. That will protect you from having them install extras that you don't need in the middle of a crisis.
If your computer or hard drive is still under warranty they you should make sure that the data recovery company is authorized to maintain that warranty. You can request this information from the manufacturer stating that the company is authorized to open the hard drive without canceling the warranty. It is important to get verifiable proof as a company may claim to be authorized by all manufactures but actually aren't.

The Five Types of Hard Drive Recovery
Hard drive recovery is an increasingly needed service as we are more reliant on hard drive and other data storage services. The problems that happen with hard disks can be classified into two types:
Logical problems: These problems occur when the file system has issues. The hard drive is fine however the files cannot be accessed, have disappeared or are corrupt. The cause for logical problems can be files deleted accidentally or intentionally, virus attack or the hard drive could be reformatted in error or poor software.
Physical problems: The hard drive can be defective if it isn't spinning, there are problems reading the drive, demagnetisation, has bad blocks or making noises. This can be caused by a manufacturing defect, mechanical impact or voltage oscillations. Data recovery is possible but as the drive has physical problems it will normally be binned after data recovery.
Recovery can be classified in five types:
Type 0: There is a type 0 for cases where it is data recovery however a technician could solve the problem. For example Windows doesn't boot. Here the technician would simply put the hard drive in another machine, copy the data and then reinstall the system. This means there is a back up of important data should the hard drive need to be reformatted.
Type 1: A type 1 problem would be classified as a simple data recovery issue were no physical damage is present. Examples include hacker or virus attack, lost partition or deleted files. This type is for lost data but data that hasn't yet been overwritten therefore the data is still on the hard drive and there is a high possibility of recovering the data.
Type 2: Problems would be things like having partial overwritten data at the important points of the disk because programs have been reinstalled or poor recovery tools have been used and have probably caused more damage than good. Other operating systems that are used make data recovery harder so they would be in this group too, examples are Novell and Linux.
Type 3: These are the most serious cases which would likely have physical problems like suffering from a serious crash. There may be a reason sometimes like a mechanical chock or voltage oscillations but the cause could also be a defective manufacture.
Type 4: The last hard drive recovery type is reserved when there is no solution. Most cases here would be suffering from physical problems were the drives have been damaged beyond recovery like a severely crashed surface. No one will be able to recover the information. This type is also were information has been lost but has been completely overwritten.
If you have important information to recover seek professional advice, internet tools can cause more damage and won't be tailored to the situation.

Steps to Ensure Successful Data Recovery
We store a lot of information on hard drives are other storage devices that is very important to us. We can have important work files, personal work that could take months to re-do and precious family photos and videos. So when data loss occurs it is understandable that many people will panic when they don't have a back up. It's not the end of the world though, data can be recovered.
Take the following steps to ensure that you are able recover your important data. To avoid permanent data loss it is important you follow these guidelines:
1 If you hear strange whirring, grinding or clicking sounds, shut down your computer immediately. Severe or complete data loss could occur as the heads in the drive could be hitting the platters that store the data.
2 Take care and unplug the computer before removing the hard drive. You have to be very careful when handling the hard drive as physical jolts can cause damage and are sensitive to static electricity.
3 If your have critical data you want to recover then make sure you choose a well known recovery firm or one recommended from a friend or colleague. Even simple attempts to recover a physically damaged drive can end in making it completely impossible to recover data anymore.
Remember the first recovery attempt offers the best chance of recovery. If you have very important information, don't take the risk, pay a professional so if there is a chance to recover the data; they will be able to do so.
When problems happen:
1 If it is possible, back up the data straight away
2 Don't power up any device that has been making strange noises or clearly has physical damage
3 Don't use utility software if the hard drive is making clicking, humming or tapping noises.
4 As soon as you notice any symptoms of hard drive damage shut down the computer immediately to avoid further damage.
5 Finally don't attempt to recover the data yourself for severely damaged machines as the system will be very vulnerable, any attempts to recover can spell permanent data loss. Seek professional advice for data recovery.
